The New Hampshire Counselor Tour Program
The admission directors of the New Hampshire College & University Council cordially invite you to participate in the Counselor Tour Program. Currently, one tour lasting four days is offered each fall when New Hampshire’s foliage is at its peak.
This program has been bringing guidance counselors to campuses since 1973. The tour provides an effective way for counselors to become acquainted with the rich variety and diversity of New Hampshire colleges. The tour includes visits to:
- Colby-Sawyer College
- Franklin Pierce University
- Keene State College
- New England College
- NH Institute of Art
- Southern New Hampshire University
- Plymouth State University
- Rivier University
- Saint Anselm College
- University of New Hampshire
“Discussing, walking, listening and questioning on each and every campus was tremendously helpful. It gave me an excellent understanding of each college.” – Mary Carter, Bishop Feehan (MA) High School
Who May Participate
The Counselor Tour Program is open to:
- School counselors from public, private, and parochial secondary schools
- College transfer programs
- Independent counselors (limited)
“There aren’t enough words to adequately thank all of you for the wonderful week I spent touring your campuses … The warmth and hospitality were overwhelming. I have not stopped talk about my experiences yet!” Judy Hugo, Mayfield (NY) High School
About the Program
During your stay with us, you will travel to each campus and meet with faculty, administrators, and admission directors for the firsthand, personal contact which previous participants have found so valuable. Most importantly, a portion of your time will be reserved for interaction with our most effective and candid communicators – our students.
Each college visit typically includes:
- a tour of the campus and its facilities
- opportunities to meet with staff and students
- answers to your questions about admissions policies and procedures
There is no cost to you or your school to participate in the Counselor Tour Program, other than to travel to and from our headquarters hotel. As our guest for the week, you hotel accommodations (based on double-room occupancy), tour transportation, and meals will be provided. (A limited number of private rooms are available for a fee.) Since we return to the same hotel each evening, you can unpack your belongings, leave your car in the parking lot, and relax. No private cars are permitted on the tour – the bus rides provide rewarding opportunities to interact and exchange ideas with colleagues, and to enjoy the scenery with makes New Hampshire special.
“It was wonderful to gain knowledge about each of the schools and it was great to meet the other counselors.” Diane Barr, Walpole (MA) High School
